Covad Introduces its New Nationwide Ethernet Services

Covad Communications, a national provider of voice and data communications which combines broadband solutions with critical service and support for a finer customer experience, has announced that its new nationwide Ethernet services can now be ordered by their wholesale partners. Over 10 million businesses are reached by Covad (News - Alert) Ethernet, available at speeds ranging from 1.5 Mbps to 35 Mbps.
Young-Sae Song, the vice president of Marketing for Covad Wholesale, said that the new Ethernet products from Covad will meet the demands of their partners for a more reliable, cost-effective and business focused way to support voice, video and data on a unified network with broad coverage.
The company offers a wide array of access and hub aggregation services such as Ethernet, DSL and T1, and has quickly evolved its network to upgrade its access offerings and develop and intelligent broadband service platform. This platform enables their partners to make custom solutions for specific applications. The Ethernet portfolio from Covad removes geographic availability a partner's rollout of Ethernet services' barrier.
Cindy Whelan, Current Analysis' (News - Alert) principle analyst of business and wholesale services said, Covad has come a long way in its transformation from a DLS and T1 access services provider to a network services provider that support IP-based solutions. The company's added Ethernet services is a robust next step that will allow their wholesale partners to deliver highly developed solutions tailored to their enterprise customers' needs.
Covad's Ethernet products can be combined by their partners with Covad's value added services like the class of service and MPLS VPNS to obtain new customers and up sell their existing ones.
The Ethernet services offered by the national provider of the best-of-breed communication services such as DSL, Business Ethernet, T1 and DS3 and VoIP on a managed national broadband network, and wireless services through a wireless infrastructure include dedicated Internet access or combine with ones of the Gigabit Ethernet-based hub aggregation services from Covad.
