Apple Approves Toktumi's Line2 App

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Toktumi announced that Apple has approved its VoIP-enabled version of its calling application, Line2, Version 2.0. The company also stated that this application is now available on iTunes to new and existing customers.

Toktumi (News - Alert) solutions provide affordable, full-featured virtual home office phone services to help mobile entrepreneurs retain the flexibility, professional image and proper home/work balance they need to lead successful lives. It provides features such as auto attendant, virtual assistant, custom greetings, unlimited calling and many more.

With Line2’s WiFi (News - Alert) capabilities, international travelers can place and receive calls while overseas without incurring voice or data roaming charges. Along with calls to other Line2 users, calls to any number back home are essentially free, irrespective of the location. Whether calling from home or abroad, outbound calls to international numbers start at $0.02 per minute, said the company.

Toktumi's Founder and CEO Peter Sisson, commented: “Line2 is a landmark application that will appeal to consumers and business people alike. You can use your iPhone (News - Alert) the same way -- with the same number -- whether placing or receiving calls over Wi-Fi, 3G, or cellular voice networks. If you live or work in a dead cell zone, or just want to reduce your cell bill, you are going to want Line2.”

With the addition of business grade features, reliability, and live customer support, Sisson characterized Line2 as combining the best elements of Skype (News - Alert) and Google Voice. The application detects the best available network based on customer preferences and location and automatically receives calls over that network. It provides features such as call waiting, call transfer, and conferences for up to 20 people.

In November 2008, the company launched a new full-featured and cost effective virtual office phone service for mobile professionals. For just $14.95 per Month, Toktumi customers enjoy lots of features including receiving a dedicated business number and virtual office assistant that enable them to project big company image from the road or home office.
