By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert), Inc. (NET), a specialist in network and VoIP solutions, has announced a strategic sales and product-solution partnership with Tango Networks, a provider of enterprise fixed-mobile convergence for unified communications.

Under the agreement, NET (News - Alert) will offer Tango's "Abrazo e" fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) solutions to its enterprise and government customers, channel partners and carriers, globally, as a reseller.

Also, NET is in charge to integrate the Tango Abrazo eFMC solution into its future NET products to provide a single-box solution supporting mobility for unified communications and voice systems.

In a release, NET company officials said the integrated solution is cost effective, easy to manage and integrates mobile phones with enterprise unified communications networks such as Microsoft's (News - Alert) Office Communications Server, IBM's Sametime Unified Telephony and IP-PBX or TDM-PBX based voice networks.

Talbot Harty, chief development officer, NET, said the new partnership will provide another key element to NET's emerging market strategy, providing the company with an enterprise mobility solution that is complimentary to the unified communications market. Also Tango's Abrazo fixed-mobile convergence platform integrates mobile phones into the corporate enterprise to deliver a true mobility extension for unified communications and enterprise voice systems.

In addition, the combined solution, NET voice switches and Tango fixed-mobile convergence solutions, will help organizations to improve employee productivity by extending unified communications platforms, PBX's (News - Alert), and enterprise voice systems to mobile devices.

"We are very pleased to have NET added to our partner ecosystem," said Al Leo, vice president of sales and business development for Tango Networks (News - Alert). He said that the addition of the Tango Abrazo eFMC solution to NET's broad family of VoIP solutions allows them to add mobility and to extend the PBX functionality to their VoIP and unified communications solutions for maximizing customer value.
