Seeking to establish an open dialog with its customers and the small business community at large, hosted VoIP provider FreedomVOICE (News - Alert) has reportedly launched a new blog as well as a nationwide contest to find the most valuable small business tip.

 

In a release, Eric Thomas, CEO of FreedomVOICE, said the new blog on the company’s Web site will “act as a resource for small businesses across the nation.” In addition to covering topics such as social media, marketing tips and virtual office service, the new blog will be “a vibrant area for company and industry news, discussion, and frequently asked questions,” he said.

Small business owners who are contemplating making the switch to VoIP from traditional phone service – or which are thinking about switching VoIP providers – are encouraged to visit the new blog in order to get a wealth of information about the many advantages hosted VoIP can bring, as well as news about recent VoIP industry trends.

In addition the company is sponsoring a “small business tip contest” on the new blog “to open up the floor for constructive dialogue.” Visitors to the new blog are encouraged to leave a comment with the small business tip they are submitting on the "FreedomVOICE Small Business Tip Contest" section.

Business tips must be less than 200 words and should be geared towards businesses with 50 employees or less. The user who submits the top business tip will be awarded an HP Mini 110-1012NR XP Edition 10.1-inch widescreen netbook computer.

Winners will be announced on the FreedomVOICE Blog on Oct. 20.

FreedomVOICE made news in August when it announced the release of a VoIP phone buyer's guide. The 2009 FreedomIQ VoIP Phone Buyer's Guide is designed to help decision makers choose the best VoIP phones for their business. It examines seven VoIP phones that are interoperable with the company’s FreedomIQ business VoIP service. The guide includes product shots and a range of information on each phone.
