FreedomVOICE Helping Soldiers Overseas Make Ends Meet

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

FreedomVOICE is pitching in to help alleviate the financial burdens of U.S. military personnel serving overseas by offering its VoIP services without any charges.

The Encinitas, Calif.-based company, creators of the FreedomIQ Hosted VoIP PBX, stumbled upon the idea of creating the "Military Suspension Plan" after staffers came across an online post discussing the many financial burdens deployed soldiers are facing.

FreedomVOICE (News - Alert) has the utmost respect and support for United States soldiers, and in response to this undesirable VoIP service situation, we are announcing a new solution specifically created for members of the United States armed forces,” said Eric Thomas, CEO of FreedomVOICE.

After a request made by a member of the United States Military came directly through the FreedomVOICE pipeline, the company made the policy official.

According to Thomas, effective immediately, any soldiers using the FreedomIQ VoIP service can keep their contract with FreedomVOICE with no obligation to pay monthly fees while traveling abroad for military purposes.

“Upon return, all the soldier has to do is notify FreedomVOICE to reactivate their account and they will be able to pick up right where they left off,” Thomas said.

FreedomVOICE provides a suite of integrated virtual office solutions, including toll-free numbers, which help business owners enhance their company image, communicate seamlessly with customers, and track marketing effectiveness.

As TMCnet recently reported, FreedomVOICE  has been ramping up its reseller relationships and customer care service with the recent appointment of a special projects manager for the company focused on offering resellers best-in-class support and will make various improvements to the customer experience.

The company has said the move is nothing more than an effort support  “those who have so admirably protected this country” and is actively encouraging other VoIP providers, both residential and business, to create similar plans.
