Telcordia, a company specializing in the development of IP, wireline, and mobile telecommunications software and services has reportedly been selected by Delhi, India-based Unitech Wireless as part of its build-out of a pan-India GSM network to serve millions of subscribers.

 

Unitech is leveraging Telcordia’s Real-Time Charging solution that will enable it to reduce time-to-market in offering sophisticated and innovative services for advanced wireless voice and data, in all 22 circles across India.

 

Rohit Chandra, Chief Operating Officer at Unitech Wireless noted that, the order placed with Telcordia (News - Alert) is one of the major orders for equipment and solutions placed by Unitech Wireless this year. He said that by leveraging existing competencies in the infrastructure and services space will be central to their strategy to reduce time-to-market and ensure a swift and cost-efficient rollout of their services in the Indian market.

 

Officials at Telcordia says their, Real-Time Charging solution offers Unitech Wireless a flexible, affordable convergent charging solution that can handle the demands of prepaid-postpaid, voice-data-content, and circuit-packet convergence.

 

Moreover, this innovative solution reduces time-to-market for new advanced services, and also helps Unitech Wireless to reap major cost savings and drive revenue by consolidating charging on a convergent platform while increasing customer loyalty, usage and retention.

 

The solution makes it easy to create and deploy customer-specific rules for rating, discounting, promotions, and settlements, and enables CSPs to differentiate their service offerings and personalize the mobile experience for its customers.
