Pinger Selects VoIP Co. Voxbone to Expand Mobile Voice Service

Voxbone, a provider of local telephone numbers and VoIP transport, says it’s forging a partnership with San Jose, California-based Pinger (News - Alert), a company that offers instant voice messaging service for mobile phones.
Under the agreement, Voxbone (News - Alert) will expand the Pinger voice messaging service outside of the United States, according to the companies. Pinger’s patent-pending service is currently available in more than 20 countries.
“Voxbone was able to procure the international direct inward dialing numbers we needed to expand our service globally,” said Jocelyn Cloutier, chief technical officer and vice president of engineering at Pinger.
He also said that the company “stood out, not only because it supports numbers in a wide range of countries, but it was also flexible enough to customize its service to work with our interactive voice response platform.”
DID is a feature offered by telephone companies for use with their customers’ PBX (News - Alert) systems, whereby the telephone company allocates a range of numbers all connected to their customer’s PBX.
Voxbone leases international DID numbers and toll-free numbers through VoIP to organizations in North and South America, Europe and Asia/Pacific regions.
Using these numbers, Voxbone says its customers receive locally dialed phone calls from 43 countries including Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark and El Salvador.
“Through our on-demand DID number services and real-time platform, service providers can now offer a cost effective, seamless, reliable, ubiquitous and easy-to-use solution for their end users,” said Sebastien d’ Ursel, sales and marketing director at Voxbone.
Dialing a local number, Pinger users send instant voice messages, simply by saying the name of the recipient and speaking the message. Recipients get notified of the new message through text.
With one button, recipients can reply to the voice message after listening to it. According to the company, this is a free service and can work on any mobile phone.
Belgium-based Voxbone services, which include DID and toll-free numbers, are deployed by mobile operators, PSTN carriers, VoIP providers, call center operators and next generation network service provider.
