iJET Service to Connect Employers, Workers Via VoIP, Satellite Phones
TMCnet Contributing Editor
To make two-way SMS, voice and e-mail communication and conference bridge capabilities easier, iJET Intelligent Risk Systems announced today that it’s launched “Worldcue Critical Contact,” an enhancement to Worldcue Global Control Center.
Users can now communicate more easily with employees via SMS, phone and e-mail messages with the help of Critical Contact, according to the company.
The service allows Worldcue Travel Risk Management and Expatriate Risk Management-licensed users to identify and contact employees who may be affected by a threat or incident.
This allows them to distribute consistent information about critical events as they take place and also receive and track responses from employees via SMS, phone and e-mail, company officials say. To establish urgent communication with the employees, they can also initiate and “push” a conference call instantly to all message recipients, they say, and the system also lets them track the status of message delivery across recipients and contact types.
Using Critical Contact, voice messages can be delivered, to cell phones, VoIP
phones, satellite phones and traditional land lines, according to the company. Users also can deliver text messages to email accounts, Blackberry handhelds, text-enabled mobile phones, and other wireless devices, company officials say. Critical Contact is provided by Send Word Now, a provider of on-demand alert and response services. iJET enhanced the Worldcue messaging technology to create the Critical Contact service by integrating the company’s Alert Service application programming interface
, according to the company.
“Worldcue Critical Contact is an important enhancement that integrates our world-class intelligence and traveler tracking technology with instant communication capability,” said Steve Hoffman (News - Alert), iJET’s chief executive officer. “Not only can organizations instantly identify employees at risk, they can now communicate and track responses from hundreds of employees when imminent threats and crises threaten their safety and security, reinforcing an organization’s business resiliency initiatives.”
