TUŠ Telekom, a company that describes itself as Slovenia’s newest supplier of mobile telecommunications, broadband, IPTV and VoIP, said today that it’s decided to standardize its data warehouse on Netezza’s data warehouse appliance technology.

 

TUŠ Telekom will use the Netezza system for advanced analytics such as customer segmentation, churn prediction, pricing simulations and usage control and intends to extend this to include revenue assurance in near future, according to the company.

 

The Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing manager at TUŠ Telekom, Klemen Lavrac, said that one of the ways they can gain an advantage over their competitors is with the sophisticated analysis of their customer database, network usage and traffic. He said that this analysis has to be fast, accurate and consistent in order to be effective and thus they decided to move their data to a fully integrated Netezza data warehouse.

 

Lavrac explained that the project was scoped on a forward-looking quantity of data and high expectations for customer responsiveness. TUŠ Telekom’s systematic survey of the market has shown that their requirements are best served by Netezza, whose technology is, in their opinion, the most advanced in the business intelligence and data warehousing market by several years.

 

The data warehouse is being implemented by Netezza’s Slovenian partner, crmT, a specialist in BI and data warehousing, according to Joe Napoli, director of International Distribution at Netezza.

 

Napoli said TUŠ Telekom believes that the combined effect of crmT’s expertise and support along with Netezza’s technology gives them a substantial advantage in a very competitive telecoms industry. He said that TUŠ Telekom aims to become the operator providing most advanced services in Slovenia.
